CITY INFO City of Milwaukee The city of Milwaukee, while being the fourth most populated city in the Midwest, as well as having prime real estate on Lake Michigan, has a history which is rich with not only the beer brewing industry, but music as well. Les Paul, a pioneer in Rock n' Roll, as well as Liberace made their starts in the the beautiful city of Milwaukee. Since then, Milwaukee has been a Midwest hot spot to not only rock out, but to wet your whistle as well.
Alongside many of the local venue's, Milwaukee is also the host of Summerfest, an annual music festival created by Henry Maier, who was inspired by the German celebration, Oktoberfest, and started the creation of the festival in 1967. The festival lasts 11 days, attracting upwards to 900,000 visitors every year since 1968, and is the largest music festival in the world.
